This is not about being green
Law school. Mountains of readings, pages of cases, unsympathetic professors. Resistance. To. Change. Law school and the legal profession in general is several technological cycles behind the mainstream. There are some exceptions that I hope to learn from to maximize my knowledge. This won’t be gossip and day to day antics of law students behaving badly. I’m in a non-traditional law school and decided to try something new. My goal is to find and review technology to help law students that is minimal in cost and easy to use. It will also cover knoweldge management. Being able to search all of the work created, reference it and find an answer in seconds is my goal. My first recomendation is google desktop search. Install it. I resisted for years thinking that it would be just more clutter. Even if you know where a document is on your computer, a double click of the control key, a few key words and BAM!!! There it is faster than you can click through a folder to find it. Try it yourself.
